Argaka
Beautiful, unspoiled character
Relaxing holidays in a friendly, sociable environment.
The traditional village of Argaka offers a touch of rural heaven, and an idyllic setting from which to enjoy the famous Cypriot hospitality and magnificent sunsets. A charming church and small selection of local tavernas are within easy reach, and the nearest secluded beaches are just a short drive away. Holidays to Argaka take you to a quiet, traditional village surrounded by scenic mountains and topped off with an away-from-it-all beach.
Argaka snuggles into the hills on the west coast of Cyprus. Set between Pomos and Latchi, it’s a slow-paced village with a couple of churches and winding streets that lead to a handful of shops, coffee bars and tavernas. The unhurried vibe continues onto the sandy beach and up into the mountains, where walkers take relaxing strolls through the rural landscape.
The beach here is a long stretch of sand and shingle with wonderfully warm, crystal-clear water. And in line with Argaka’s relaxed pace, there’s really not much to do except lay out your towel and enjoy it. If you’re here in high summer, you might find that your neighbours are the endangered Green Turtles.
Figs, grapes, apples, oranges and lemons – the aroma of fruit will follow you at every turn in Argaka’s fertile surroundings. Unsurprisingly, walking is a popular pastime in the area, and if you’re prepared to strike out into the hills you’ll be rewarded with secluded villages and Byzantine churches.
